Getting The Most From Your eBay Auction
What can you do to help you get the most
$$$ for your item?
We all want you to get the highest possible price you can from your
auction on eBay. We do our very best to deliver professional photography,
expert copy writing, prompt and accurate communication with potential
buyers, easy payment processing and fast, safe shipping. All these factors
contribute to our excellent success in marketing your item to the eBay
community for top dollar. There are, however, several things you can do to
help us get the most from your auction. They are as follows:
- Documentation
Manuals, instructions,
receipts, appraisals, original packaging; anything at all that you still
have that came with the item is almost always helpful in driving the
price up. Take a few minutes before you bring your items in to find all
the supporting materials you can.
- Support Materials
If you know the
manufacturer’s web site, or any other site which will help us to better
understand your item and write the copy, please note it and bring it in
with you. We do our very best, but you probably know more about your
item than we do, and anything you share with us can potentially increase
the market value. If appropriate, take a few minutes and write down all
the significant facts, history of the item, and anything else we might
need to know to accurately describe your item.
- Flaws & Defects
Most of the items
sold on eBay are used. Buyers expect them to have some flaws and
defects, and it is usually no problem if they are disclosed in the
listing. In fact, many buyers are very wary of purchasing “perfect”
items which are used. If you know of any flaw or defect in the item,
please tell us about it when you check it in at iSold It. If you do not,
chances are we will both end up with a return from the buyer, resulting
in a non-sale for you.
- Make it Shine!
They say a picture is
worth a thousand words, and that is certainly true on eBay. While we are
more than happy to wipe off a little dust or a few smudges, we are not
equipped to clean or polish or in any other way restore your item to
it’s best possible appearance. Take a minute or two before you bring
your item to iSold It to really clean it up and make it photo ready. Our
research shows that the great photos that result from a little “elbow
grease” can generate up to 40% more on the final sale price.
